Robotics & Cobots

Tate hits 12x per-welder throughput with 58 Hirebotics cobot welders

Data centre infrastructure maker Tate deployed 58 Hirebotics Cobot Welder systems across manufacturing facilities in Arkansas, Virginia and Kentucky. A Hirebotics case study reports a 12x increase in per-welder throughput.

Cobot welding at fleet scale is now a proven play for high-mix fabrication - the constraint is welder programming, not the hardware.

Smart Manufacturing & Digital Twin

PIA Automation builds BMW E-Drive line: 46 robots, 78 stations, digital twin

PIA Automation is developing an E-Drive assembly line at BMW's Steyr, Austria plant, with 78 processing stations, 27 robotic cells and 46 industrial robots across more than 5,600 square metres on two levels - among the largest projects in its history.

Digital twins are now baseline scope on greenfield EV lines - expect integrators to quote them as standard, not as an upsell.

Edge Computing & Inference

Avnet and Weston Robot launch edge AI autonomous inspection platform

Avnet and Weston Robot have partnered to launch an AI-powered autonomous inspection platform aimed at complex industrial environments.

A distributor pairing with a robotics vendor lowers the integration barrier for autonomous inspection - worth a quote if you still run manual rounds.

IIoT & Connected Manufacturing

Arriyadh Roaster picks Rockwell's Plex cloud MES for shop-floor visibility

Coffee producer Arriyadh Roaster selected Rockwell Automation's Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform. It required a cloud-based manufacturing execution solution giving real-time production insight and better shop-floor coordination to support continuous expansion.

Cloud MES keeps winning where expansion outpaces IT headcount - a viable path if an on-prem MES project has stalled.

Automation & Controls

Defensible OT architecture: building so one compromise cannot take the plant

As manufacturers connect AI programs, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, asset analytics and cloud platforms into production, IIoT World frames the design question: how to build the OT environment so one failure, misconfiguration or compromised system does not cascade.

Every AI pilot you approve adds an OT connection - segment and document it before the pilot quietly becomes production.

Process Technology

Emerson Rosemount 350A brings digital pH/ORP measurement to harsh processes

Emerson launched the Rosemount 350A pH/ORP sensor. It converts measurement data digitally to reduce electrical noise in high-temperature and high-pressure applications.

If your pH loops drift from noise on long analog runs, digitising at the sensor is cheaper than rerouting cable.

Robotics & Cobots

Regal Rexnord and FANUC ship integrated linear axis for CRX cobots

Regal Rexnord and FANUC collaborated on a fully integrated linear axis for FANUC CRX collaborative robots, combining Thomson linear motion technology with Boston Gear gearheads, Huco couplings and Kollmorgen motors and software.

A pre-integrated seventh axis removes the usual custom-engineering step when a CRX cannot reach the whole work envelope.
